Reykholt, in South Iceland, grew in the first half of the 20th century after geothermal activity was discovered nearby, and the area is now known for its greenhouses and horticultural farms. The village has a grocery store, a gas station, and a swimming pool, plus horse shows and greenhouse visits. Geysir, Gullfoss, Skálholt, and several golf courses are all within easy reach.

Selfoss is about 30 km west, on the banks of the Ölfusá. With about 10,000 residents, it’s the largest town in South Iceland. There are supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and an outdoor geothermal swimming pool.

»We enjoyed wonderful days in your luxurious cottage with lovely surrounding. «

»Dear owners after a week in the north of Iceland, we enjoyed a week in your lovely cottage. It was a great starting point for many exciting trips through the south. From a city trip to Reykjavik, a bath in one of the many hot springs nearby, the attractions of the Golden Circle and a tour on Icelandic horses we always loved coming back to this beautiful place. This house is very well equipped (the children loved the trampoline and the many games) We are sad that we have to return to Germany now, but we will keep all the beautiful, mind blowing and fascination memories and we hope to come back one day (even though it might be not that quiet with more tourists around without the covid restrictions) «

Julia + Tobias from Germany

»Dear owners, we've had 11 wonderful days in this house. It is such a quiet and lovely place that we don't want to leave it. The trips we made from here were so varied and here are so many beautiful places nearby. The house is so well equipped that we rarely missed anything. No matter what weather was outside we enjoyed the pretty view in the unique nature. We will remember for a long time. «

»Firstly, we would like to give our highest recommendation. It was a wonderful week in this cosy wooden house. The view of the surroundings, the cosy furnishings, all appliances and equipment were in top condition. The washing machine was a joy! And we loved the impressive pictures on the walls! Our 3 children voted this house the best holiday home. We are German and don't speak Icelandic. But I often stood in front of the bookshelf and admired the books - what a beautiful collection! I thought: that would be a good reason to learn Icelandic! A winter here in this house ... ;-) The surroundings are unspoilt, there are lots of trees all around, which protect the house well from the wind and gusts of rain. You are completely unobserved and can enjoy the hot tub in peace - with a fantastic view of the countryside. We wish the owner and his family all the best and thank them for letting us spend part of our holiday in Iceland there.«
