Gamlibær in West Iceland, close to Borgarnes (32 km)
Gamlibær is a very cozy, rustic wooden house, located in a beautiful Skorradalur on the rivers of the lake Skorradalsvatn. It is the perfect retreat with a lovely view over the lake.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms under the roof. The kitchen is good equipped with every thing you need plus a small dishwasher, a living room with TV/DVD and a cozy fireplace. A small bathroom with WC and sink is on the main floor and the shower is in the basement, entrance from the out side.
You can spend your afternoons and evenings on the terrace. There you also have a gas grill as well as garden table and chairs. Enjoy the lake view and an enjoyable meal at the end of the day here. The location of the house is perfect for day tours in West Iceland. The parking above the house and you have to walk several steps down to the house.

Borgarnes is the nearest town and has restaurants, larger supermarkets, cafés, the Settlement Centre and a swimming pool with a steam bath, an ice bath and hot tubs.
Other places to visit in Borgarfjörður include Reykholt, Deildartunguhver and Hraunfossar. Further inland, around Húsafell, there are several caves, including Víðgelmir, one of Iceland's largest lava tubes.
