Gras is a real gem, located in a small and quiet village in the Westfjords. The main house is old but recently renovated. The house is standing at the waterfront and offers a stunning view over the fjord Dýrafjörður.

In the main house, there is one bedroom, a kitchen with a dishwasher and all the other necessities and a living room with a TV and radio/CD. WC/shower and a washing machine. Behind the house, there is a lovely terrace with a charcoal grill, and there is access to the guesthouse, which can accommodate two guests.

The house is located centrally in the Westfjords and ideal for exploring this stunningly beautiful and quiet part of the island.

Þingeyri is a small village on Dýrafjörður with around 260 residents. Kaldbakur, the highest mountain in the Westfjords, rises nearby. The village has a café, a restaurant and a gas station with a small grocery shop.

Ísafjörður is about 50 km north of Þingeyri and is the largest town in the Westfjords, with around 2,600 residents. Fjords and steep mountains surround the town. The old centre has wooden houses with corrugated metal roofs, built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Westfjords Heritage Museum has an exhibition about the town's maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The former hospital is now a cultural centre with archives and photography collections. There are supermarkets, restaurants, shops and a public swimming pool.

»The house was recently renovated, and with an additional bungalow at the back, gave us more than enough room to move around in. It would be great if the owner would provide a user manual, especially for the oven and stove, and where the washing machine/dryer is located and how to operate it. Also, not to leave the WiFi password on a scrappy piece of paper, hanging on the wall on the complete opposite side to where the WiFi router is located. Also, to make the writing a lot more legible.«
