Iceland's border rules
Do you want to visit Iceland this winter but are not sure about the conditions?
Here is information on the current conditions for entering the country:
Every traveler must pre-register before arriving in Iceland. Present a certificate of full vaccination, or a certificate of the previous infection, at the border. If a certificate is not valid the individual needs to undergo 2 tests and quarantine for 5 days in between.
Depending on your vaccination status, these are the rules at the border:
You are vaccinated or have had a prior covid-19 infection
Vaccinated passengers, and those with prior infection of COVID-19, need to present a negative covid-19 test, either a PCR or a Rapid antigen test. NB! Self-tests are not accepted. The test must have been taken within 72 hours before departure on the first leg of the journey. A fine for not presenting a negative COVID-19 test at the border is 100.000 ISK.
You are not vaccinated
You need to undergo 2 tests and quarantine for 5 days in between.
