Óseyri is a large holiday house in East Iceland, that can house up to eight people. It is a former farmhouse and has a beautiful view of the surrounding fjord and stunning mountains. Only a few minutes drive from the small village of Stöðvarfjörður. An excellent choice for those who want to do daily excursions in this area of Iceland.

The house has four lovely bedrooms. A modern bathroom with shower. The rather large kitchen has a good variety of equipment and a dishwasher. In the living room, you will find a TV/ DVD Player and WIFI. There is also a laundry room where you will have the use of both a washing machine and dryer.

Outside there is a small terrace with a relaxing hot tub, where you can enjoy the fresh air, the stillness of the fjord and the panoramic mountain view. In front of the house, there is a private parking space

Stöðvarfjörður is a small village in east Iceland. It is on the shore of the northern side of the fjord with the same name, and is surrounded by a spectacular mountain panorama. There are a lot of unique rocks and stones in the area. It is worth to have a look at Petra’s stone collection. It is the lifelong collection of Petra Sveinsdóttir who lived in the area all her life and collected the stones during her hikes.

Despite the size of the village, there is an internet Café, self-service gas station and an outdoor swimming pool. For bigger supermarkets and shopping possibilities you will have to drive to Egilsstaðir, a one hour drive north of Stöðvarfjörður.

Egilsstaðir is situated at the northern part of the Lagarfljót river and is the largest town of the Eastern Region with ca 2500 inhabitants. It has everything from gas stations, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, and a swimming pool.

»What a view everywhere from this house! Mountains - snow - waterfalls - horses - little funny birds. The birds "talk" a lot and they come very close. The old houses (french) in Fáskrúðsfjörður are worth while seeing & visiting the new museum of the old hospital (first hospital in Iceland). We also recomment walking to the little birdview house down the road. «

»We enjoyed the stay in this house, the view around the house is wonderful! After we got settled we relaxed in the hot tub. We also payed a visit to Papey island, something we would recommend to everybody. Of course there were puffins, but they are not the only ones that occupied the island. For the rest of our time on the east-side of Iceland we just cruised around along the coast for some great views and even drove up in the mountains. Really breathtaking! «
