Heiðarbyggð is a modern cabin only 8 minutes drive from Akureyri. The view of Akureyri and the scenic Fjord Eyjafjörður is breathtaking. You will benefit from the proximity to town Akureyri as well as the central position for excursions in the North of Iceland. There are several opportunities to do Whale Watching as well as bathing in natural sources.

Heiðarbyggð consists of two units, the main house (85 sqm) and the guest house (20 sqm). In the main house, there are three bedrooms. The living room has a smart TV and free WIFI, and the kitchen has a dishwasher plus a gas stove and is otherwise fully equipped for enjoyable cooking. The guesthouse sleeps three people.

The terrace allows you to enjoy the splendid view from this modern house. It has a stunning view to Akureyri over the fjord, some garden furniture and a gas grill, all contributing to a memorable holiday in Iceland. In front of the house, there is a parking space.

Akureyri is at the base of Eyjafjörður Fjord. It is the biggest town in North Iceland with a population of ca 19.000 and is often referred to as Capital the of North. Akureyri is a center of commerce with a harbour and airport for domestic flights. You find a number of supermarkets, restaurants and gas stations here, as well as swimming pools and interesting museums and other sights.

In the center you find the Akureyri Church, built in 1940, with its stained-glass windows portraying scenes from Icelandic Christian history. The nearby Akureyri Art Museum displays contemporary art from Iceland and abroad. Close to the center are the Botanical Gardens, with specimens from all across Iceland. The Christmas house ("Jólahúsið") is a special place to visit and open all year round.
