Kotabyggð is a small and lovely holiday home just five minutes from Akureyri.

It offers a view of the town of Akureyri. There are countless opportunities for day trips in the area.

The house has two floors. In the attic there are two single beds and on the ground floor there is a bedroom with a double bed. The open kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and the living room corner has a large, comfortable couch and armchairs to relax on. There is also a TV/DVD and a radio/CD. The bathroom has a shower/toilet.

Outside on the 25 m² veranda you can enjoy the view, prepare a delicious barbecue or just enjoy the Icelandic unspoilt landscape. Parking in front of the house.

Akureyri is at the base of Eyjafjörður Fjord. It is the biggest town in North Iceland with a population of ca 19.000 and is often referred to as Capital the of North. Akureyri is a center of commerce with a harbour and airport for domestic flights. You find a number of supermarkets, restaurants and gas stations here, as well as swimming pools and interesting museums and other sights.

In the center you find the Akureyri Church, built in 1940, with its stained-glass windows portraying scenes from Icelandic Christian history. The nearby Akureyri Art Museum displays contemporary art from Iceland and abroad. Close to the center are the Botanical Gardens, with specimens from all across Iceland. The Christmas house ("Jólahúsið") is a special place to visit and open all year round.
