Sjónarhóll is a small wooden holiday house in the remote valley Fnjóskadalur, in North Iceland. Despite its remoteness, it is only a 25 minutes drive from Akureyri and it is situated right in between Akureyri, Húsavík and Lake Mývatn.
The two-bedroom cabin is nicely organised and has a cosy attic with an additional sleeping area with two single beds, if needed. The small but fully equipped kitchen has all necessary cooking equipment and a microwave. The living room corner invites to relax and the fireplace will make sure you stay warm and cosy on a cold winter night. There is a TV, DVD and radio/CD. Bathroom with a WC/shower.
Outside is a beautiful 60 sqm terrace with plenty of garden furniture and a hot tub. You are going to love the terrace. The house is surrounded by a lot of green and no one will disturb you here. Parking close to the house.

Fnjóskadalur has campsites and holiday cottages. At the lower end of the valley, Illugastaðir has a tourist centre with a small shop and a swimming pool, both open in summer only. Vaglaskógur, the second largest forest in Iceland, is good hiking country.

Akureyri is 15 km west, at the head of Eyjafjörður, and with around 20,000 people it's the largest town in North Iceland and the region's centre for commerce and services, with a harbour and a domestic airport. There are supermarkets, restaurants and gas stations, plus swimming pools and museums.

»The house is really hard to find when the travel agent gives you a description thats is wrong. The beds are too small for two persons. Luckily we had three bedrooms. The karaoke set was great by the way«
