Located in a beautiful valley between Akureyri, Húsavík and Mývatn, we offer this compact and cosy little cottage.

This wooden lodge has two bedrooms, one of them is upstairs in the attic, reachable with bit steep stairs. The ceiling height in the attic is 195cm. The living room has a small kitchen corner with everything you need to cook. There is also a free fiber-optic internet connection at your disposal. If you are traveling with children, a baby travel-cot is in the house. On the ground floor, there is also a small bathroom with WC and a shower.

The terrace of 90m² has garden furniture and is ideal for enjoying the morning coffee or for leisure under the evening sun. The owner recommends using the outdoor shower and then afterwards to relax in the warm hot tub. If you like to cook your meal outside you are welcome to use the gas grill. You can park just in front of the house.

Fnjóskadalur is a picturesque valley with camping sites and cottage. At the bottom of the valley, at Illugastaðir, you will find a tourist centre with a small shop and a swimming pool, both only open during the summer months.

Vaglaskógur is the second largest forest in Iceland and invites you to undertake various hiking tours in this beautiful area. Nearby bigger towns are Akureyri and Húsavík.

Akureyri is only 15 km west of Fnjóskadalur. It is at the base of Eyjafjörður Fjord and the biggest town in North Iceland with a population of ca 19.000. Akureyri is a center of commerce with a harbour and airport for domestic flights. You find a number of supermarkets, restaurants and gas stations here, as well as swimming pools and interesting museums and other sights.

»For 2 people, the house was perfect. The bed was a bit small, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed the hot pot, had wonderful barbecues on the porch and just enjoyed the magnificent view of the valley. We also made quite some use of the board games. This house was the perfect getaway.«
