Sólvangur is an adorable and cozy renovated house. It has many small, beautiful details, decorated in a mixture of new and old. There is a lovely view over the lake Þingvallavatn.
It has two bedrooms, and a small attic with steep stairs. Very well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave along with all general necessities. For baby's there is a baby travel cot and a high chair. In the living room there is a welcoming fireplace and free WiFi. There is a WC with a shower. An inviting hot tub on the beautiful patio surrounded by trees where you can enjoy the northern lights and the stars.
The lovely big lake Þingvallavatn is in a walking distance and the location of the house is excellent for exploring the wonders of South Iceland.

Lake Þingvallavatn is within walking distance, and Þingvellir National Park is nearby. The Alþingi was established there in 930 and met at Þingvellir until 1798. The park lies in a rift valley formed by movement along the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Its cliffs and fissures include Almannagjá, and there are several walking trails in the area. Geysir, Gullfoss and Skálholt are also within easy reach.
Laugarvatn is about 30 km away, in Árnessýsla on the shore of the shallow lake of the same name. Around 300 people live there; the village grew around the boarding school and is now a regular stop on the Golden Circle. Laugarvatn has a small grocery store, a restaurant, a gas station, a swimming pool, a sauna, horse riding and a golf course. There are several geothermal hot springs along the lakeshore, and boats can be hired for trips on the lake.
