The house Steinahlíð is located in Fljótshlíð. It offers a great view over the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier and the Westman Islands.

This is a great place for day trips in southern Iceland.

The cute house with three bedrooms offers enough space for up to 6 people. There is a colorful kitchen corner with cozy decoration, as well as all necessary appliances for cooking and a microwave. The large living room invites you to relax and has a TV/radio. Bathroom with toilet/shower.

Outside there is an 80 sqm terrace with barbecue and garden furniture. It is wonderful with nature all around you while the meat is roasting on the barbecue. Parking right in front of the house. The house has a hot tub but it is not included in the rental.

Fljótshlíð is associated with the Icelandic saga characters Njáll and Gunnar, two rival Vikings. Hvolsvöllur, on Route 1, has a gas station, a café, a small supermarket and a swimming pool. It is also home to the LAVA Centre and the Saga Centre, which has an exhibition about Njáls saga.

Gluggafoss, also known as the Window Falls, is nearby. It is a small waterfall with views towards Eyjafjallajökull.

Hella is about a 10-minute drive north of Hvolsvöllur, also on Route 1. The town has a larger supermarket, gas stations, restaurants, a golf course, a swimming pool and a health centre.
