The house Steinahlíð is located in Fljótshlíð. It offers a great view over the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier and the Westman Islands.

This is a great place for day trips in southern Iceland.

The cute house with three bedrooms offers enough space for up to 6 people. There is a colorful kitchen corner with cozy decoration, as well as all necessary appliances for cooking and a microwave. The large living room invites you to relax and has a TV/radio. Bathroom with toilet/shower.

Outside there is an 80 sqm terrace with barbecue and garden furniture. It is wonderful with nature all around you while the meat is roasting on the barbecue. Parking right in front of the house.

Fljótshlíð is the home of the Iceland Saga characters, Njáll and Gunnar, two rivalling Vikings. The village of Hvolsvöllur, along road nr. 1, has a gas station, a coffee house and a small supermarket, as well as a swimming pool. You can also find the Lava Center and the Saga Center with its unique Njáls Saga exhibition in Hvolsvöllur that tells the story of the vikings.

There is also Gluggafoss waterfall - the window waterfall - in the area. This is a lovely smaller waterfall that offers breathtaking views directly onto the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier.

Only 10 minutes drive north of Hvolsvöllur is the small town of Hella, also along road nr. 1. Here you find all basic services such as a bigger supermarket, gas station, restaurants, golf course, swimming pool and a health center.
