Þórsstígur is a beautiful summer house in Grímsnes, in the south of Iceland.

The house is located near the 534 m high extinct volcano Búrfell. From the house you have a wonderful view over the salmon river Sog and the surrounding area.

The house has two bedrooms two bedrooms and a guest cabin with bunk bed. The kitchen has a microwave and dishwasher. The dining area is part of the living room. There is a TV, radio/CD, DVD player and WiFi. The bathroom is equipped with toilet and a shower.

The large terrace has both garden furniture and gas grill as well as a hot tub that you must try. Parking is in front of the house.

Grímsnes is a popular vacation house area in South Iceland. The Municipality of Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur was formed in 1998 by merging the two areas. The main settlement is Sólheimar with ca 100 inhabitants, an eco-village known for its ecological, artistic, and international community ethics. Grímsnes is a great location for excursions in South Iceland. It is on the popular Golden Circle route and from there it is only 40 km to Geysir and 50 km to Gullfoss.

Grímsnes is ca 25 km east of Selfoss, the largest town in South Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. The town is a centre of commerce and small industries with a population of ca 8.000. There are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets and an outdoor geothermal swimming pool.
