In Hellnar there is a small cafe and a hotel. The village Arnarstapi is within walking distance, and there is a delightful, easy walk along the shore to reach this small community. When staying in Hellnar you should drive up to the glacier. The Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge is also close by as well as the cave Sönghellir, known for its echoes.

»Its a fairly small house, but with all the basic equipment you need. In winter its pretty hard to get to as there are no parkingspots near the house. Having to carry all your luggage through the snow is quite hard.«
