This charming cottage is in the vacation area of Húsafell, below the Langjökull glacier.

Ideal location if you want to go on a tour to the ice cave on top of the glacier or visit the longest lava tunnel in Iceland - Viðgelmir cave. The Borgarfjörður area has lots of stunning sights almost at your doorstep. In your vacation house area, Húsafell, you will find a service centre with a swimming pool and a small shop. If you fancy a round of golf, you find a nine-hole golf course nearby as well.

This two-bedroom house with an semi open attic is suitable for up to four people and some kids. Please note that steep stairs to the attic are steep and the is ceiling low. The cosy living room has plenty of seating possibilities and a sofabed, radio/Bluetooth speaker, a dining area, and open kitchen with all necessary equipment, plus induction cooker and an oven.

On the spacious 60 sqm terrace, you find a garden table and chairs, and a gas grill. Of course, you also have a hot tub in which you can relax after a long day of sightseeing and outdoor explorations. Parking in front of the house.

Húsafell is a sprawling farm and church estate and the former site of a rectory. It is the innermost farm in Borgarfjörður, not far from Reykholt and Reykholtsdalur. The former farm Húsafell now serves as a hub of service for travellers and tourists staying in the area. There is a hotel with restaurant, a golf course and swimming pool. Nature here is diverse and beautiful and everything from dense woodlands, to waterfalls, glaciers, and rugged lava fields can be found.

In the area are also a lot of caves. Only a short drive away is Víðgelmir, the largest and most spectacular lava tunnel found in Iceland. Cave exploration tours are offered for visitors.

The fjord of Borgarfjörður is known for the hot spring Deildartunguhver and the lava waterfall Hraunfossar. The next bigger town is Borgarnes with supermarkets, bakery, gas station, swimming pool and and the Settlement Center with an excellent exhibition about the first settlers of Iceland.

»A small cute house with lots of light. The bedrooms were very small. In 1 room the door could hardly be opened. The description we had been given said that there would be a " Open fully equipped kitchen; induction cooker". Unfortunately, this is not true. It was a ceramic cocker and there was no dishwasher. The pots and pan where is good shape! The washing machine was there but not reachable. That's why we did a hand wash.«
