The holiday home Hnífsdalur is located in the town of the same name between Ísafjörður and Bolungarvík. Only the coastal road separates the modernized building from the sea. From the house you have a wonderful view over the Ísafjarðardjúp fjord.

It is furnished in a maritime style with a cozy ambience and has two bedrooms, a pretty living-dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. On the ground floor there is the main entrance with a hallway, a bathroom with toilet/bathtub, the triple room and a basement room with a washing machine and dryer.

The other rooms are on the upper floor and can be reached via a steep staircase, but can also be accessed from outside. A terrace in the garden invites you to sunbathe. There is a parking space next to the house and bicycles are also available for guests.

With its location and wonderful sea view, the holiday home Hnífsdalur not only offers an oasis of peace, it is also an ideal base camp for excursions and hikes in the Westfjords.

Ísafjörður is the largest town in the Westfjords and is the capital of the region with a population of ca 2.600 inhabitants. Beautiful fjord and steep mountains surround it. The area offers various opportunities for hikers and natural sightseeings.

The old center of Ísafjörður has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th century. The Westfjords Heritage Museum shows an exhibition about the town’s maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The old hospital, now a cultural center, contains archives and photography. There are supermarkets, restaurants, shops and a public swimming pool.

The Westfjords are know for their dramatic landscapes, remoteness and wildness. Expect many long and winding roads, fjords, waterfalls and mountains. It is a hiker's paradise.
