Þórisdalur is in a unique location, close to one of Iceland's most beautiful areas Lón. It is close to Europe's biggest glacier Vatnajökull and only about 100km from the world-famous Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón. The town Höfn in Hornafjörður with all services is about 30km away.

Jökulsá í Lóni is a glacial river in southeast Iceland, between Eystrahorn and Vestrahorn. The area is close to Vatnajökull, about 100 km from Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and 30 km from Höfn.

Höfn is a fishing town on Hornafjörður, with views of Vatnajökull. It is the second largest town in southeast Iceland and has shops, restaurants, a gas station and a swimming pool. Höfn is also a good base for day trips to the Eastfjords.
