Rjóðrið is a well kept and inviting cabin, located close to the small town Húsavík and steps away from the salmon river Laxá í Aðaldal. In Húsavík you will find among other things, shops, museums and whale watching companies. This is a good starting point for excursions in northern Iceland.
Despite its size, the house can accommodate up to five people. If you are traveling with children, there is also a baby bed. The living room leads into a well-equipped kitchen, with microwave and dishwasher. There is also a sofa bed and a TV/DVD, radio/CD. In the small bathroom there is a toilet/shower.
The terrace is very nice and has the obligatory hot tub and some garden furniture. You have absolute privacy in this house, surrounded by a birch grove. There is also a gas grill, for a well-deserved dinner at the end of the day. Parking next to the house.

Aðaldalur is in South-Þingeyjarsýsla. Around the area are a lot of lava fields which are overgrown with birch and heather. It is near the small fishing town of Húsavík. Aðaldalur is an excellent location for day tours in North Iceland and to the northeastern Highlands such as the Askja volcano. A vehicle suitable for highland roads is necessary.
The house is located only 50 km from Lake Mývatn and 75 km from Ásbyrgi. About 100km to Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe. And approximately 300 - 400m from the salmon river Laxá í Aðaldalur.

It is also known as the 'capital of whale watching' as there are lots of whale watching trips going from the harbour. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. Húsavík has all basic services, from bakery, supermarket, shops, museums, to gas station and swimming pool. It is also served by Húsavík Airport for domestic flights.
