Sælulundur is a simple and cosy little house in Iceland just outside of the "capital of the whale watching" and a fishing town, Húsavík.

It presents the perfect location for day trips in this region of Iceland. The house is in 50 km proximity to Lake Mývatn, and from there you can continue into the Highlands, e.g. to the volcano Askja and from where you can enjoy the magnificent Queen of all mountains, Herðubreið.

This well-organized house has three bedrooms. The kitchen has a microwave and is in the living room with smart-TV/DVD, Radio/bluetooth. Bathroom WC/shower.

The 60 sqm terrace has garden furniture, a gas grill. Right in front of the cottage, there is a parking space.

Aðaldalshraun is in South-Þingeyjarsýsla. Aðaldalshraun is a lava field that lies between Skjálfaland and Laxá, near the small fishing town of Húsavík. Aðaldalshraun is an excellent location for day tours in North Iceland and to the northeastern Highlands such as the Askja volcano. A vehicle suitable for highland roads is necessary.

Húsavík is on the north coast on the shores of Skjálfandi bay with ca 2.300 inhabitants. It is also known as the 'capital of whale watching' as there are lots of whale watching trips going from the harbour. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. Húsavík has all basic services, from bakery, supermarket, shops, museums, to gas station and swimming pool. It is also served by Húsavík Airport for domestic flights.
