Aðaldalshraun is in South-Þingeyjarsýsla. Aðaldalshraun is a lava field that lies between Skjálfaland and Laxá, near the small fishing town of Húsavík. Aðaldalshraun is an excellent location for day tours in North Iceland and to the northeastern Highlands such as the Askja volcano. A vehicle suitable for highland roads is necessary.
