Arriving in Iceland
Do I need a mobile phone during my trip in Iceland?
Yes, we strongly recommend having a mobile phone available during your trip. This allows us to reach you with important updates if necessary, and lets you contact us easily if you need any assistance during your stay.
Most areas in Iceland have reliable mobile network coverage. Iceland is part of the EEA (the European Economic Area, which covers all EU countries plus Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein), so visitors from EEA countries often enjoy the convenience of using their home provider without additional roaming charges; other visitors should check roaming options with their provider.
To check coverage or roaming options, please visit one of the Icelandic mobile phone companies: Siminn.is, Syn.is, or Nova.is.
For internet in the houses, see: Is there internet or Wi-Fi in the houses?
